Alan in New York for indefinite period? a Play called "the Creditors" ?
I found this fan letter online.
The link should take you to an enlarged picture of the letter so
you can read the it for yourself.
http://www.fanmail.biz/mboard/viewtopic.php?t=123382
it says hes in NY for an indefinite period?
A play maybe? If anyone hears about him doing a play or such please let
me know, as tickets will sellout quickly. I have serious health
problems and this could be my only chance to see him in a play.
Even if he filmed a movie in NY I'd travel just to watch from behind
a barrackade. Alan a few states away even if only for a while,
thank you god!
To all of you here who live in New York, I'm am so jealous!
Please let me know if you hear about Alan directing a Play in New York.
He directed "The Creditors" in England last year I think.
I saw somewhere that he may bring the play to New York.
From what I could find out, if he does do the play in New York,
it may be off Broadway at a smaller venue.
This could mean that tickets will be hard to get and sell out very fast.
So if your in New York and he does do the play there please tell me the minute tickets are
available.
I must stress from what I could find that this is not a done deal, only a possibility.
The tabloid story in the link below says Alan is looking for an apartment in New York city.
This could just be gossip. The story is dated 12/29/08.
At first story seems no have little to do with Alan, but read last paragraph.
http://curbed.com/tags/alan-rickman
And another site has pics that are of Alan in New York City,
the caption read Alan Rickman apartment hunting in New York?
http://www.zimbio.com/pictures/1ZI4dmWAeKO/Alan+Rickman+Apartment+Hunting+New+York
The play "The Creditors" was done by Donmar Warehouse.
They are in England and have a website with a link to their U.S. website.
They don't do many play in the US from what I could find out.
Sadly there was nothing at either site about the play coming to New York
So who knows? I could be wrong about the play, maybe hes in New York for
something else. To our New Yorkers out there ask around and keep your eyes open.
I keep thinking I read it was in the West Village area he was looking for a place,
Houston and Lafayette? Even if he was, the situation could have changed since then.
Not sure if he was looking to rent or buy.
If I was in New York I'd borrow and dog and walk around the east village area,

This has all certainly been the buzz in AR fandom recently. I'm afraid I don't have much more info than you have at the moment. We still are not sure if he and Rima have found a place yet or how the negotiations/plans for bringing "Creditors" to NY are going. Apparently he was spotted there on his birthday and was then spotted by no less than four bloggers at a play in London on the following Thursday.

Oh, the poor girl who forgot his name! I'm sure he thought it was amusing, even if he didn't let on.
Or maybe, he just didn't appreciate being stopped and asked for an autograph, either.
I think it probably gets aggravating being stopped by people, especially when you just want to go out to dinner or have a quiet evening somewhere.
At least she didn't pee her pants or something! Now THAT would have been humiliating!

Floating around the www today.
From Popb*tch (British gossip site) - AR sighting (Alan is the disembodied voice in the first part of the dialogue)
disembodied voice: "are you going to move that bloody vehicle anytime today?"
r_g (distracted under bloody vehicle): "sorry chap, won't be long, that AA truck's about to tow it"
dis-embodied voice: "Well hurry up, some of us have a cab coming, you're causing a blockage."
r-g (emerging): "well, how about you try walking the 12 feet to the kerb like everyone else... erm... Alan".
Alan: "Mr Rickman."
r-g: "Mr Rickman"
*cab arrives*
AA man: "Christ, Snape must be down on his luck, that Merc's only a Y-plate" (older car)
r_g: "So it is."
*the end*
